Modern Slavery Act Transparency Statement

Really Useful Products Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Really Useful Products Ltd (the company) has taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains or in any part of our business.

The company is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain, and imposes the same high standard on its suppliers.

Really Useful Products is a manufacturer and developer of plastic storage and organisational products. It employs 340 people and has business operations in the UK and the USA. We have assessed our risk to modern slavery and human trafficking as low. This assessment is made based on geography, the nature of the business and business transactions.

Within our business we have implemented various policies such as a Child Labour policy and in our staff handbook we set out our expectations in terms of issues such as working hours, child labour, discrimination and health and safety.

In addition, as a business our culture emphasises our focus on upholding our core values such as the commitment to our employees and standards for doing business. We adhere to current statutory employment legislation and we ensure that any supplier or third party follows the same fundamental principles. We expect all parts of the business to adhere to this Modern Slavery Statement.

We currently have suppliers spread predominantly across the UK, all of whom we make aware of our policies. In an effort to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring within our supply chains, we have adopted the following due diligence procedures:

  1. We encourage our suppliers and associated businesses to adopt similar policies to our own;
  2. We seek only to work with suppliers who have similar policies;
  3. We terminate our relationships with any suppliers who do not comply with our policies or who do not address non-compliance in a timely manner;
  4. We ensure there are provisions relating to modern slavery in the supply contracts we enter into.

These procedures are designed to establish, monitor and reduce potential areas of risk in our business and supply chains.

We train our staff on how to identify and report risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, however as we have assessed our risk to modern slavery and human trafficking as low the company does not feel we have to have a specific module dedicated to anti-slavery and human trafficking.

Our CEO, Directors and our Human Resources department take responsibility for ensuring that this statement is up to date and reflects the actions Really Useful Products is taking to tackle slavery and human trafficking.
